Berlin is a veritable shoppers' paradise. Whether you're into penny pinching or power shopping – just about anything can be bought in Berlin. Kurfurstendamm and Tauentzienstrasse have elegant department stores and designer boutiques. Friedrich Strasse in Mitte is another good shopping area, particularly around Quartier 205, 206 & 207, three swanky buildings connected by underground passages. Bergmann Strasse in Kreuzberg has several hip stores and cafes, but the area around Hackescher Markt in Mitte is now the centre of the fashionably cool. If you get the time, pay a visit to a local flea market where you'll find a treasure trove of things local to Berlin.
