Water is considered safe to drink throughout Germany.

Healthcare

Germany has a very modern healthcare and hospital system. All EU citizens may receive medical attention at no charge, or will be reimbursed for basic medical care received while on the island upon presentation of a EHIC Card, which must be obtained in your country of origin prior to travel.

Personal safety

The rate of violent crime in Berlin is generally low, although pick-pocketing and petty theft can occur. Be alert in tourist areas as you would in any other major city.
